A few helpful insights for raw feeders...
For those that feed raw
The following is information offered by a local blogger who is a raw food
and nutrition specialist.  For those that feed raw, we hope you find this
information sufficient to sustain your on the road diet:

"There are some raw foods available locally. Pet Food Express in Dublin
(5 minutes away) carries Nature's Variety and Primal. Whole Foods in
San Ramon (10 minutes away) carries Primal, Steve's Real food and
Country Pet (which is cooked). Primal also lists Petway in Pleasanton as
being one of their distributors -- this would definitely be the closest
location to the Fairgrounds (assuming that's where you'll be). They may
have other foods as well.

Puppy Playland used to carry Grandad's
(http://www.grandadspetfoods.com/) and may also have Primal, but
you'd need to call to verify, as there's nothing about it on their web site.
They're in San Ramon, about 10 minutes away:

These commercial raw foods are expensive, especially for such large
dogs. Raw feeders should keep in mind that they can get a lot of foods
at grocery stores -- it's not important to feed a complete diet for a short
term. There's a Raley's in the same shopping center as Petway, and
other stores nearby as well.

There are no commercial outlets for Green Tripe, to the best of my
knowledge, and Hollister is about an hour and a half away. You could call
Mary to confirm, but I've never heard of anyone being able to get her
products locally (our raw food co-op sends someone down there twice a
year): http://www.greentripe.com/

There is a Bravo retailer in Berkeley, about half an hour away, called
Holistic Hound -- I know Bravo makes a green tripe product but don't
know if Holistic Hound carries it. You can always call Heidi (the owner)
and ask: http://holistichound.com/ -- Heidi's great and she may have
other raw food products as well.

The SF Raw Food Co-op has lots and lots of products, including green
tripe, but they're not easy to get to (they do have parking now, though) --
it would take at least 45 minutes, and longer if there is traffic. They have
open freezer days where they sell to the public. In May, they list those
days as Thursday and Friday, May 13th and 14th, from 9-3, and
Saturday, May 1st and 15th, from 12-5. More info: http://www.sfraw.com/

That's about all I can think of. Best of luck with your specialty!"
